1)Pre-Lab Laboratory Experiment 1 Download and Study the Laboratory Experiment 1 Write-Up attached and then work on the Laboratory Experiment 1 Pre-Lab attached for this experiment. All grades are to a large extent (50% for Pre-Labs) based upon your work being thorough, complete and of good quality; you need to be showing me all of the relevant work in getting to the questions answers. Good work includes showing all of the units throughout every calculation. Being too brief is the equivalent of being incomplete. 2) Laboratory Experiment 1- If you have not already done so then study the Laboratory Experiment 1 Write-Up and then do the Laboratory Experiment 2 Pre-Lab. Collect the necessary data while watching the short videos A, B, C and D – below are the video links =>Chemical Equilibrium pt A- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JE2HFJ3Z7T0 =>Chemical Equilibrium pt B- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lQurTJnoJg =>Chemical Equilibrium pt C- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7ulRA1D-BM =>Chemical Equilibrium pt D- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W89qQyFtnHY Record the data on the Laboratory Experiment 1 Data Sheet attached. Write up a formal Laboratory Report following the required format attached Most missed points are due to not explaining the experiment in the Discussion (look in your textbook and the lab experiment “write up” to see examples of how the principles of the experiment are explained). All grades are to a large extent based upon being thorough and complete; 3)Post Lab Analysis Exp 1- When conducting experiments it is important for us to recognize how reliable was the design of the experiment, as well as how reliable is the data that we conducted. On this discussion thread you are to post your analysis of that reliability. Things to consider as you write up your post: The experimental procedure Was the experimental procedure designed appropriately to achieve the experiment objectives? Which part of the experimental procedure do you believe had the highest chance of producing poor data? How could the experimental procedure have been improved to get better results? The experimenter and the data Did the experimenter alter the experimental procedure? and if so do you believe the changes improved or hindered the experiment? What mistakes were made by the experimenter? What changes to the way that the experimenter conducted the experiment do you think would have improved the data that was produced? Was the data that was collected any good? explain why or why not? How many significant figures are appropriate for each measurement and calculation and why is that number appropriate? NOTE: these are just some things for you to consider when writing up your analysis; don’t be limited by this list in your analysis. I want you to take time and think about the experiment and then be thoughtful in your response. If your analysis only contains the above bulleted list you will not necessarily get the maximum score. Also, make sure that what you are producing is an “analysis”; simply copying material from your report (except for any analysis provided in your Conclusion) will not be counted towards a complete assignment.
