The Center for Comprehensive School Reform and Improvement defines teachers who lead as influencers, focused on improving teaching and learning skills. There are many avenues for teacher-leaders to make a significant impact on student learning. In this assignment, you will examine the various ways teachers contribute to their profession through curriculum development and design and why this work is compelling.
Research the University Library for peer reviewed, scholarly articles which illustrate the wide range of ways that teachers are involved in curriculum design leadership (e.g., school-based, school district, state, national, etc.). Note: You may find the Develop a Search Strategy page helpful for conducting your research.
Create an annotated bibliography (APA formatted) of 5 articles to address the research criteria, including a minimum 100-word synopsis of each article.
Write a 525- to 700-word proposal for increasing teacher involvement in curriculum design leadership based on the research found in your annotated bibliography in which you complete the following:
Differentiate the current ways teachers are involved in curriculum design leadership, including descriptions and examples.
Justify the need for increased teacher involvement in curriculum design leadership, including references to your research.
Recommend a plan for increasing teacher involvement in curriculum design leadership.
Compose a personal goal related to teacher leadership in curriculum design, including rationale for the goal.
Submit TWO Pieces – the annotated bibliography and proposal.
